PAPER FORMAT AND SUBMISSION

Authors of accepted papers should prepare and submit the final camera-ready paper by final paper submission deadline. Total paper length should be 6 camera ready pages, including illustrations and references. A maximum of two (2) extra pages per paper is permitted for an extra charge of 100$ per page.

Authors must submit their papers in Portable Document Format (PDF), via web upload. The document must not be encrypted, locked, or otherwise write-protected.

1. STYLE FILES AND TEMPLATES

Papers should adhere to the standard IEEE double-column format for conferences. The following style files and templates are available for preparing the paper.

LaTeX template file (tex and pdf)

a sample file (obtained by using the "IEEEtran.cls" and "IEEEbib.bst" above) with detailed instructions for paper formatting

[ LaTex ]

LaTeX style file "IEEEtrans.cls"

with margin, page layout, font, etc. definitions

[ for Unix ]

[ for Windows ]

Word 97/2000 template file (doc and pdf)

a sample file with correct formatting and fonts with detailed instructions for paper formatting

[ MS Word ]

[ PDF ]

Please format your paper according to the instructions given above. Double-check the paper size in your page setup to make sure you are using the A4 size paper layout (210 x 297mm).

  • When converting from "dvi" to postscript make sure that you convert your "dvi" file to postscript format using the command:
              dvips -P pdf <filename>
The "-P pdf" option is required to generate the correct postcript file, which uses Type 1 scalable fonts instead of bitmapped fonts. This ensures that PDF files can be viewed both on the monitor screen and can be printed on paper.

  • Postscript files may be converted to PDF by using Acrobat Distiller (recommended) or Ghostview/Ghostcript.

  • MS Word users can convert their papers to PDF by using http://createpdf.adobe.com. This is a free service that can convert MS Word to PDF.

2. PDF CONFORMANCE

!! Before uploading your paper please use the free IEEE Pdf eXpress Service to check the reliability of your paper with IEEE requirements!!

! The document must not be encrypted, locked, or otherwise write-protected. !

IEEE is very strict about the requirements for converting application files or PostScript files to full text PDF for inclusion in IEEE Xplore®.

To help authors IEEE published the following PDF specifications guide, together with PDF Job Option files that are compatible with Adobe Acrobat version 4 to 7.

To facilitate the PDF conformance checking or to create a PDF file conforming IEEE demands out of your source, AMC'06 has registered for use of a new IEEE tool, the IEEE PDF eXpress™. IEEE PDF eXpress is a free service to IEEE conferences, allowing their authors to check for IEEE Xplore® compatibility of PDFs that authors have made themselves (PDF Check function) or to make IEEE Xplore®-compatible PDFs through source upload (Conversion function).

Please follow the steps below to complete the final paper submission process:

1) Create your manuscript(s), and name the file "paperID.pdf", for example A2-03.pdf or B4-25.pdf.

2) Proofread and check the layout of the manuscript (it is highly recommended that you do this before going to IEEE PDF eXpress).

3) Create an IEEE PDF eXpress account.

or use the link below

Conference ID: amc06.

4) Use IEEE PDF eXpress to attain IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF(s).

This is done through uploading PDF(s) for Checking and/or source file(s) for Conversion at IEEE PDF eXpress web page. The site contains extensive instructions, resources, helpful hints, and access to technical support. Any modification to the PDF document made after passing the PDF check may cause to lose PDF compliance, let the PDF check always be your last action with the PDF file before submission.

Be aware that IEEE PDF eXpress is just PDF checking or creating service, but not a conference paper submission place.

5) Submit final, IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF(s) through conference Web upload.

AMC'06 Web upload - deadline: January 15, 2006

[ Go to Web upload! ]

Please follow the instructions as you proceed.

Please make sure that your PDF files are compliant with IEEE Xplore®. Papers failing to meet the IEEE Xplore® PDF requirements cannot be included in the conference proceedings!

For detailed information on IEEE PDF eXpress usage, see instructions (PDF, 485 kB) .

3. NOTES ON WEB UPLOAD

Before uploading the paper, please adhere to the following requirements:

Please verify that the final version of your PDF file adheres to conformance requirements above (i.e. it passes the PDF eXpress check without errors or warnings)

The maximum document file size is 10MB (megabyte). To request an exception, contact the secretariat at amc06@sabanciuniv.edu.

The filename for the file containing the final version of the paper should be renamed "paperID.pdf", for example A2-03.pdf or B4-25.pdf. Once you submit the paper, please make a note of your paper number and use it in all your correspondence.

Once you have your document file ready, have the following information handy before starting the submission process:

  • The PDF file containing your submission

  • Authors' names and e-mail address of the author who will serve as the main contact

  • Paper title

  • Text file containing the paper abstract, in plain ASCII text format (for copying and pasting into the Web form). The abstract length is limited to 500 characters. Please note that the abstract must not contain any special characters. Also, do not start the text with the word 'Abstract'.

Your paper will be visually inspected upon submission. If there is a problem with your submission, we will contact you to resolve the issue.

4. COPYRIGHT FORM

Your paper cannot be published in the conference proceedings without a signed IEEE Copyright Form.

Download either [ PDF ] or [ MS Word ] document, fill in and sign the form.

The form should be faxed to the Conference Secretariat at +90 216 483 9550 by January 15, 2005.

Alternatively, you can scan the signed form and e-mail it to amc06@sabanciuniv.edu.

5. PRESENTER'S BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

At the conference, the Session Chair will introduce each presenter by reading this note.

Download either [ PDF ] or [ MS Word ] document and fill in the form.

The form should be faxed to the Conference Secretariat at +90 216 483 9550, or e-mailed to amc06@sabanciuniv.edu by March 29, 2005.
