Title: Why do journal papers get rejected?
Speaker: Nancy Karabeyoğlu
Date/Time: Wed, November 19th, 13:40
Place: FENS L062
This workshop looks at why scholarly papers get published (and why they don’t) when written by students whose native language is not English. Specific attention is given to how the composition process for international students in writing an academic article may influence its production as well as later publication. Additionally, the broader steps of paper submission, review, and acceptance are outlined; also included is a brief discussion of current theories of the impact of geography and politics upon knowledge construction/publication.
