Graduate Study and Research Opportunities in EPFL

Yusuf Leblebici

The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) is one of the two state-owned technical universities in Switzerland, with about 8000 students and more than 250 research laboratories (independent research units).

EPFL offers 13 complete study programs at the Bachelor's and Master's levels in engineering, basic sciences, computer and communication sciences, life sciences, civil engineering, architecture and the environment. At the PhD level, EPFL has 17 different doctoral programs with a total enrollment of 1300 students. The majority of the MS programs and all of  the PhD programs are conducted in English. The school offers research assistantships and a limited number of fellowships to exceptional PhD candidates, while scholarships are also available to outstanding international MS students.

In this seminar, the graduate programs (MS and PhD) and the admission procedures at EPFL will be presented, and various research opportunities will be discussed.
