Fermi Science Highlights
Dr. Jürgen Knödlseder

The launch of the Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope in June 2008 has opened a new era in the exploration of the high-energy Universe. With unprecedented sensitivity, Fermi deeply probes cosmic particle accelerators, including pulsars, black holes, active galactic nuclei, supernova remnants and gamma-ray bursts. In this presentation I will provide a summary of the most important scientific achievements that resulted so far from the observations. I will show how Fermi opened already up many new fields of scientific investigation and how long standing questions start to get solved.
