Faculty Position in the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Molecular Biology, Genetics and Bioengineering Program at Sabanci University in Istanbul (BIO-1-2018)
Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Bioengineering Program, at Sabanci University, in Istanbul, Turkey is inviting applications for full-time faculty positions. We seek a broadly trained neurobiologist or developmental biologist whose research and course offerings complement those of other faculty in the Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Bioengineering Program. Applications from candidates with an excellent track record in developmental biology, neuroscience and/or molecular neurobiology are expected. However, outstanding applications from other research fields in molecular life sciences, such as stem cell biology and epigenetics will also be considered. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree in above-mentioned fields and a minimum 3 years of postdoctoral experience. Successful candidates are expected develop an extramurally funded and internationally competitive research program using model organisms such as, but not limited to, C. elegans, Drosophila, or Zebrafish. The University offers a competitive salary, benefits package, and research start-up seed money to support faculty research and teaching. Additionally, all faculty members are expected to commit to undergraduate and graduate education, and undertake service activities in the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences in Sabanci University. The typical teaching load is 3 courses per year and the medium of instruction is English.
