Amazon Research Awards (ARAs) are prestigious awards given since 2015 to support outstanding researchers and academicians who have excelled in their fields. ARA supports projects proposed by leading researchers in the prominent fields of Computer Science such as robotics, machine learning, AI, security and automated reasoning which are also Amazon's major fields of work. In total, more than 400 researchers from 150 universities in 28 countries have been awarded so far. This year, 26 researchers from 25 universities in 11 countries were found worthy of this prestigious award. Laureates get direct funding up to $80k and Amazon Web Services (AWS) credits for working on their project. In addition, the Principal Investigator (PI) and other project members will have the opportunity to interact and work with engineers and researchers from Amazon and attend Amazon workshops and activities.
