About BIO 452 and BIO 581

Dear Students,

BIO452 Immunology and BIO467 Signal Transduction will not open in the Spring 2012 semester. Undergraduate students who have taken BIO452, and BIO graduate students are advised to enroll in BIO 581 Spc.Top.in Bio.Sci.&Bioeng II. This course will require prior molecular biology and immunology knowledge. We will learn about advanced genome modification techniques such as Zinc Finger Nucleases and TALENs. We will learn about techniques used to make transgenic, knockout, and knock-in genetically modified animals.  We will read primary research and review papers from the recent literature literature, and discuss the findings  in class.
