The automobile sector is changing and reaching a turning point as producers and innovators advance to become mobility service providers. Automakers and developers of autonomous vehicles (AV) will work to establish standards and proceed to Level 5 autonomy and Full Self-Driving (FSD) capabilities over the course of the next ten years. The market for connected and automated vehicles (CAV) is expected to reach a value of more than $200 billion by 2025, and with it, a rise in new challenges related to the development of the AV industry. The post-production and post-deployment services, as well as AVs, require a solid infrastructure. Automakers are looking for new ways to manage data and connection. Industry participation and collaboration on new technologies and strategies, as well as comprehending the effects of transitioning to Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) and Robotaxi services are of paramount significance. The newest advances in artificial intelligence research, virtual environment evaluation, ADAS calibration, deep learning systems, sensor fusion for AV development, and regulatory standards compliance are all essential to the development of connected and autonomous vehicles.

On November 22–23, 2022, in Berlin, experts in autonomous driving gathered for the Autonomous Vehicles 2022 Europe Exhibition and Conference.
