Abstract: Weighted shifts on sequence spaces have been among the most important and well studied operators in functional analysis. We will generalize them by considering weighted shifts on sequence spaces indexed by the vertices of a directed tree. We intend to relate the dynamic behaviour of such shifts to the geometry of the underlying tree and the weight function. Specifically, we will provide complete characterizations for when those operators are hypercyclic, weakly mixing and mixing.
