Prof. Dr. Ismail Cakmak received Science Prize at the Second National Agricultural Summit
At the second National Agricultural Summit held in Ankara between 29 November and 1 December, 2004, several prizes at different categories were given. Prof. Dr Ismail Cakmak, member of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of Sabanci University, was awarded a Science Prize due to his outstanding research activities at international level and his contribution to increases in cereal yield in Central Anatolia through the project he lead on zinc deficiency problem in the region. President of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Bulent Arinc, Prime Minister Recep Tayip Erdogan, CHP Leader Deniz Baykal and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Sami Güclü were present at the award ceremony. Prof. Cakmak, who has also received TUBITAK Science prize, published 74 articles in peer-reviewed journals covered by Science Citation Index and these papers received nearly 1800 citations |
