Project Proposal:
Identify your project topics. Fill out the project proposal form and send it to sop@sabanciuniv.edu. You may submit as many project proposals as you wish.
Evaluation and Approval:
Your submissions will be evaluated by an assessment committee comprising experienced faculty members from all undergraduate programs of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences. Topics deemed suitable for resolution will be selected. You will be informed about the selected project topics. A protocol will be signed for the approved projects with the mutual agreement of both parties.
Placement of Students in Projects:
The selected projects will be announced to students through various channels, and applications will be collected. Applications will be evaluated to match projects with students. Additionally, the Evaluation Committee may directly assign suitable students to projects. Depending on the project content, teams of at least three students from different disciplines will be formed.
Students assigned to the project will sign a confidentiality agreement.
Project Implementation:
The project will be carried out over two academic terms within the scope of “Graduation Project I” and “Graduation Project II.”
A faculty member from Sabancı University will act as the project advisor, guiding the student through every phase of the project. During the project proposal development stage, the student will visit the corporate advisor with the faculty advisor.
The corporate advisor will guide the student on the project's objectives, goals, and content. The corporate advisor is expected to visit Sabancı University at least twice, in March and May, to evaluate the project.
Training for Students as Part of the Project:
During the first three months (within the scope of the Graduation Project I course), students will carry out the design phase of the project.
In the design phase, students will receive training through seminars and group activities on the following topics:
- Complex scientific and engineering problems
- Sustainable development
- Economic, environmental, producibility, ethical, health, social, and political issues
- Project management, risk management, and change management
- Intellectual property rights
- Innovation and entrepreneurship
- Occupational health and safety
In the subsequent three-month period, students will implement the project.
Students will prepare progress reports on the project's development, including:
- Project Proposal
- Final Report
These reports will be shared with the corporate advisor.
At the end of the project, students will present their work to the corporate advisor and the relevant faculty member.
If deemed appropriate by the organization, the project poster and summary may be used for promotional activities.
