Leaders for Industry (LFI) Program is accepting applications for graduate study in the Fall semester of the 2005 - 2006 academic year. LFI is open to candidates with an undergraduate degree in the areas listed below:
LFI Electronical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS)
Computer Science: Graduates of
computer and electronics engineering only
Mechatronics: Graduates of mechanical and electronics engineering only
Microelectronics: Graduates of electrical & electronic engineering only
Telecommunication: Graduates of electrical & electronic engineering only
LFI Industrial Engineering
Graduates of industrial engineering
only
LFI Material Science
Graduates of chemical engineering and material science & engineering only
LFI Biological Sciences and Bioengineering
Biological and Biotechnologies graduates only
General Requirements
Applicants must have completed their previous degree programs by September 5, 2005, at the latest, with a GPA equal to or higher than 2.70/4.00 or 70/100. Required documents for application are listed below:
1. Valid Proficiency Score in English: A minimum
TOEFL score of 560/220. Applicants are required to take the Sabancı University
Language Assessment Exam (SU LAE) unless they possess a valid TOEFL score.
2. Valid LES (Lisansüstü Eğitim Sınavı) or GRE Score: A minimum total score of 45 in "quantitative" section of the Lisanüstü Eğitim Sınavı (LES) or a minimum total score of 950 in "quantitative" and "verbal" and a minimum total score of 3,5 in "analytical writing" sections of the GRE are required for application to the LFI Program. Total minimum score of 1100 in "quantitative and analytical" sections based on the previous scoring system can be submitted if the exam is taken within the validity period.
TOEFL, LES, Sabancı University Language Assessment (SU LAE) Exam Results should not be exceeded for 2 years and GRE Exam Result should not be exceeded for 5 years during application.
3. Transcript: All transcripts are to be submitted in a sealed envelope from the Office of Student Resources/Services of the applicant’s previous university/universities.
4. Two Reference Letters: A sample is included in the application form.
6. Statement of Purpose: Essay clarifying the goals and expectations of the applicant, written on a
separate sheet with 12 - point font and double-spaced with a word limit of
1000.
Financial Support
Financial support is available in the form of monthly stipend, full tuition waivers and partial housing support.
Application Deadline and Admission
June 3, 2005 is the deadline for the applications. After initial screening, interviews will be scheduled for potential candidates at Sabancı University.
