the major declaration of fens students
The Major Declaration of FENS Students
The last day for Undergraduate students who have already registered in a diploma program as of 2009- 2010 fall semester to make transfer application to FENS diploma programs is 18 December 2009.After this date the applications will not be accepted. The application form is attached.
The general rules for major declaration are below.
A Final Declaration is made every academic year in the Fall, Spring and Summer Semester, during the period announced in the academic calendar before the relevant term ends.
Undergraduate students who have not registered in a diploma program and those undergraduates with total credits of 58 or more from completed coursework as well as currently registered courses, make their Final Declaration by selecting one diploma program from the present undergraduate diploma programs. In case of declaring your diploma program other than the program (ASSP, ENSP, EMSP) that you enrolled , then you are requested to inform a diploma program also from the program that you enrolled.
Final Declarations are evaluated so as to place students in diploma programs by taking the following into consideration:
- The Final Declaration is not processed if the total amount of credits for completed courses is less than 58 credits according to the final grades submitted by the end of the semester. These students must make the Final Declaration again by the end of the following semester.
- The Final Declaration for students whose total amount of credits for completed coursework is 58 credits and above is placed to the program in which they made their Final Declaration.
- For undergraduates who have made their Final Declaration other than that of the program in which they initially registered and who possess a total of 58 or more credits for completed coursework, the relevant clauses for 'internal transfer' in the 'Instruction Letter for Sabanci University Undergraduate Programs' are applied. Students who qualify as 'Internal Transfer' (CGPA must be min. 2.00/4.00 and who receive at least minimum passing grades in the courses in which they are registered-not having F, U/NA grades) are placed in the program indicated on their Final Declaration according to the decision of the Faculty Administrative Board.
- For undergraduates who did not make their Final Declaration but who possess 58 or more total credits for completed coursework in the relevant semester or for undergraduates making Final Declarations for a program other than that of the one in which they are enrolled and who have not satisfied the transfer conditions for a minimum GPA (CGPA must be min. 2.00/4.00 and not having 'F/U/NA grades) by the end of the semester:
- The Final Declaration is not processed if the total amount of credits for completed courses is less than 58 credits according to the final grades submitted by the end of the semester. These students must make the Final Declaration again by the end of the following semester.
- These students are placed in their Final Declarations if they have previously made Final Declarations and if their final declarations have been made to diploma programs in which they are enrolled.
- Undergraduates are placed in the program, which has the highest point ranking according to their last Middle Declaration if the students do not have/have not made Final Declarations for any diploma program in which they are enrolled.
- If students do not have Middle and/or Final Declaration(s) in the program that they have been previously enrolled, they are placed in the highest ranking program that they choose in their First Declaration during their registration to the university.
