Yousef Jameel Scholarship Program at SU - Call for Applications

The “Yousef Jameel Scholarship” is intended to provide full support to outstanding students seeking high achievements in science and technology. It includes support for, tuition fee, monthly stipend-for accommodation and living expenses and some amount for books and supplies. 

“Yousef Jameel Scholarship” can be awarded to the outstanding full time students enrolled in the graduate programs (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, with precedence given to the eligible candidates of the Mechatronics graduate program.

The scholarship will be awarded to outstanding, both newly admitted and to continuing students. Candidates must have an academic performance indicator clearly compatible with high honors level of cumulative grade point average or have BS CGPA greater than or equal to 3.50. The selection will be strictly based on merit, without any discrimination of gender, nationality, race or faith of the students. In support of international education, under the same other conditions preference will be given to foreign nationals.

The scholarship is awarded to a student for one academic year and it may be extended if student’s performance meets requirements of scholarship.

The scholarship may be awarded to a MS student for maximum 2 years and for a PhD student for maximum 4 years.

If student’s performance does not meet requirements of scholarship he/she may be suspended for further scholarship.

We are inviting applicants for school year 2011-2012 to make their application not later than 29th July 2011. The application documents should include

         - Transcript from previous university education (undergraduate and graduate),

         - Statement of research interests and the study/research plan;

         - CV with list of publications, projects, skills...;

         - Sample publication (if any)

         - One page summary stating past achievements and study/research plan;

         - Two recommendation letters,

         - Statement on other financial support applicant receives or will receive for school year 2011-2012.

         - Any other document that candidate deems helpful for his application

         - Students that are currently receiving Y. Jameel Scholarship in addition to above documents should submit their report for the 

            year 2010-2011.
