Sabancı University climbs four places and ranks 18th on the Times Higher Education (THE) “Top Universities in BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings 2017"

Sabanci University faculty member Selmiye Alkan Gürsel’s work with Olgun Güven of Hacettepe University on ‘’Radiation grafted materials for energy conversion and storage applications’’ was published in Progress in Polymer Science

Composite structures are thought of as a suitable means to reduce weight in weight critical applications such as aerospace and high end automotive vehicles. Novel composite structures aim at improving the efficiency of existing structures even further by introducing non-conventional design concepts.

KTMM Seminar:Non-Conventional Laminates; Prof. Gürdal is the inaugural holder of the Ronald E. McNair Endowed Chair at University of South Carolina. Prior to joining the University of South Carolina, he held the Chair of Aerospace Structures and Computational Mechanics at TU Delft, The Netherlands. He also holds Professor Emeritus appointment at Virginia Tech, where he was a Professor jointly appointed between the Aerospace and Ocean Engineering, and Engineering Science and Mechanics Departments.

Mühendislik ve Doğa Bilimleri Fakültesi öğretim üyemiz Ali Koşar, "Mikrokanallarda Çap ve Uzunluğun Yüksek Kütle Akılı Doymamış Akış Kaynama Isı Transferine Etkilerinin Nümerik ve Deneysel Olarak Araştırılması" adlı araştırmasıyla Sedat Simavi 'Fen Bilimleri Ödülü'ne değer görüldü.

FET Amiral Gemisi Projelerinden biri olan Grafen Projesi kapsamında grafenin enerji uygulamaları konusunda çalışan Mühendislik ve Doğa Bilimleri Fakültesi öğretim üyemiz Selmiye Alkan Gürsel, grafenin yakıt pillerinde kullanımı ile ilgili Popular Science dergisine röportaj verdi.
