ENS 303 Introduction to Space Technology

ENS 303 INTRODUCTION TO SPACE TECHNOLOGY

A new course starting Spring 2012-2013

The aim of the course is to provide introductory information about satellite systems (especially small satellites), orbit and space environment for commercial and scientific satellites, and systems engineering.

The course will be project based, after initial introductions, groups will propose a small satellite concept. Then they will work on one or a few aspects (attitude, telecommunication, power, software, launch requirements, radiation damage, material specification, tribology, there are many more). The aim is identifying tasks and offering solutions to chosen problems,  NOT really building the satellite (unless students want to build it ;).

The course is open to all fields of engineering, there is something to do for all in space!
