Dr. Cemal Yilmaz gave a talk titled Combinatorial Interaction Testing as a distinguished speaker at Dagstuhl Seminar 13091: Analysis Test and Verification in the Presence of Variability February 25 2013 -- an invitation only seminar series where 35 to 45 researchers of international standing from academia and industry among them promising young researchers are met to discuss an established field within computer science and establish new directions.

40-year career of Prof. Dr. Gündüz Ulusoy the founder of SU Manufacturing Systems Engineering Program was celebrated with a workshop organization. The workshop which took place on May 10th at SU Karaköy Communucations Center brought together Prof. Ulusoy’s colleagues and former students from academia and industry. The program included presentations on applications of industrial engineering methods to different problem domains as well as a panel titled “Industrial Engineering for Big Decisions in Big Problems”.

The Sabancı University-Okan University collaborative team won the first place in one of the two categories and third place in the other in the ImageCLEF Plant Identification Competition.
