Graduate Applications: Writing Your Statement of Purpose and Academic CV

Dear seniors and graduate students:

This workshop is intended especially for seniors and graduate students considering applications abroad this year for master's and PhD programs.  Goals of the seminar include:

• Increasing your familiarity with factors that influence selection committee members
• Helping you decide on content for your SOPs
• Sharing tips on getting started
• Discussing strategic considerations in your essays
• Utilizing AI tools ethically while avoiding traps of AI usage
• Answering your questions.

Differences between academic and work CVs are also highlighted to help students customize their CVs for graduate applications.
