Ali Koşar’s article was published as the cover article in the journal of Nanoscale and Microscale Thermophysical Engineering

FENS Faculty member Ali Kosar’s article with the title ‘THE EFFECT OF NANOSTRUCTURE DISTRIBUTION ON SUBCOOLED BOILING HEAT TRANSFER ENHANCEMENT OVER NANOSTRUCTURED PLATES INTEGRATED INTO A RECTANGULAR CHANNEL’ was recently published in the newest issue of the journal Nanoscale and Microscale Thermophysical Engineering, which is one of the leading journals in the field of Micro- and Nanoscale Heat Transfer and Applications.  This study focuses on the effect of the configuration of nanostructures on the enhancement of boiling heat transfer.  In light of the obtained promising results, cooling channels with nanostructured surfaces are proven to be useful, where conventional surface modification techniques are not applicable.

Related research was performed with the help of graduate students Turker Izci and Ebru Demir under the supervision of Ali Kosar and is a result of close collaboration with Karabacak group from University of Arkansas, Little Rock.
