New Graduate Courses For Summer School
Dear Graduate Students
Two new graduate courses will be offered by Professors Mihrimah Özkan (University of California) and Cengiz Özkan (University of California) during summer school. It is a great opportunity for you to meet these renowned scientists and learn new topics. Therefore, we strongly recommend you to take these courses.
1) CRN: 30162
Course code and title: MAT 68002 - Special Topics in MAT: Magnetic Materials and Devices
This course is designed for students who are interested in fundamentals of magnetic materials for the next-generation magnetic, nanomagnetic & spintronics-related technologies, basics of magnetism, models of the equivalent magnetic charge and current, paramagnetic and diamagnetic materials, soft & hard magnetic materials, equivalent magnetic circuits, and magnetic system design foundations.
Instructor: Prof. Dr. Mihrimah Özkan
Course schedule: Wednesday 07.40 -8.30 pm; Thursday 06.40 -9.30 pm; Friday 06.40 -9.30 pm
Grading Basis: Team Project Presentation 100% (There will be no exams or homework)
The goal is to conduct an extensive literature search (including patents) to understand and brainstorm on a selected topic/area of nanoengineering, and provide a team presentation at the end of the class.
You can register to the course in add-drop period. If you want to take the course please URGENTLY send e-mail to İlkay Demirelli (ilkay.demirelli@sabanciuniv.edu) to mention about your interest and intend & please attend the first lecture on Thursday, July 1.
2) CRN: 30161
Course code and title: MAT 68001 - Special Topics in MAT: Foundations of Nano Engineering
This course is designed for students who are interested in micro- and nano- fabrication, nanoscale characterization, nanoscale electronics, photonics and bio-photonics, carbon nanomaterials, materials synthesis from the bottom up, biomimetic approaches for novel design.
