Speaker:Sibel Şahin, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University

Title: Sub-Hardy-Hilbert and Sub-Bergman Spaces of Planar Domains

Date/Time: 15 Nov 2023, 13:40-14:30

Place: FENS G032

Abstract: In this talk we will consider some special classes of analytic functions, namely sub-Hardy spaces (a.k.a de Branges-Rovnyak spaces H(b)) and Smirnov class of sub-Bergman spaces on planar domains. In the first part of this talk we will see structure of de Branges-Rovnyak spaces in the setting of unit disc and finitely connected domains of C and in the second part of the talk we will deal with the Smirnov classes of reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces via two very recent studies: the first one considers the Smirnov classes for de Branges-Rovnyak space H(b) [1], and the second one is about the Smirnov class of sub-Bergman spaces and the range of defect operator on these spaces [2].

Bio:I got my bachelors degree from Bogazici University in 2008 and PhD from Sabancı University in 2014. My PhD thesis was on complex potential theory and holomorphic function spaces (namely Monge-Amp`ere measures and Poletsky-Stessin Hardy Spaces) on hyperconvex domains. During my PhD, I was a visiting researcher at Syracuse University, USA then I was a postdoctoral researcher at Institut de Math ́ematiques de Toulouse (IMT), France where I worked on K ̈ahler energy classes and toric pluripotential theory. Since 2017, I’m a faculty member at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Mathematics Department and continue my research mainly on complex geometry, holomorphic function spaces and behavior of composition operators on them.
