Abstract: In this talk, we will give a survey of the recent AI applications to law and argue problems related with AI technology, especially, LLM or Chat-GPT. Then, we introduce our research activity on AI and Law called "juris-informatics" and give some of our findings in this area.
Bio:Ken Satoh is a professor in the Principles of Informatics Research Division, National Institute of Informatics, and Sokendai (The Graduate University of Advanced Studies) Japan. He has been working on logical foundations of AI, especially non-monotonic reasoning. He is currently investigating juris-informatics (aiming at amalgamation of informatics and law, as bio-informatics amalgamates informatics and biology). He is a member of the steering committee of JURISIN workshops (International Workshop on Juris-informatics) and COLIEE competition (Competition on Legal Information Extraction and Entailment).
