FENS Newsletter - Issue 6

Dear Students, Friends, and Colleagues,

We are happy to present the latest edition of FENS Newsletter, which summarizes our achievements, research highlights, awards, projects, and other important activities since the previous newsletter in December 2022.

In Spring 2022-2023 term, FENS organized many events and activities listed in the Seminars & Events section such as “Dean’s Speaker Series”, Graduate Seminars, Info Days, and our signature event “Teknolojinin Gücüyle Geleceğe”. We strongly emphasize that your increased participations in the faculty events and activities increase their impact.

The Projects section, where all accepted national and international project as well as the above the threshold EU projects are listed, attests that we are very active in project development and successful in securing grants for them. Important part of credit is due to Research Development and Technology Transfer Office (SU-ATT), which is ready to inform, help and guide you in your future applications, especially for the forthcoming calls within the framework of Horizon Europe.

The Research Highlights section features three of the important research projects and activities. We encourage you to check the Awards & Recognition and Other Achievements sections, which list awards and other types of recognitions received by FENS members. We sincerely congratulate them and wish success in their future academic endeavors. You can also check the Hot Topics section, for interesting reading pieces suggested by FENS faculty members. Especially, we hope that you enjoy the articles on Generative AI on science and education, which will probably occupy us in the near future. And finally, the News section includes what else happened at FENS.

We sincerely thank our vice dean for research and her team members, and outreach committee for preparing this newsletter and all our faculty members who duly responded to our calls for data. Note that the content of this issue pertains to the time interval between December 1, 2022 and July 1, 2023. If we miss any project, activity, achievements of yours in this issue, please let us know so that we include them in the next one.

To conclude, we would like to invite you all to join us celebrating all our achievements, which are made possible by hard work, collective effort, dedication, and perseverance.
